Bucket Club Draws on Two Main Truths:
Life is short and the time to live is now. Carving out time in your busy schedule that is focused only on positive things can help you renew your spirit and recharge yourself. Identifying new activities or skills you’d love to try, destinations to visit, and places to volunteer that will truly bring you joy, all will help you focus on living a happier life!
Your club will give you the time and encouragement to pay close attention to what the rest of your life is going to look like. You can discuss any topic under the sun. You don’t have to stick strictly to a list. If something jogs your memory and makes you remember that you’ve always wanted to buy a recorder, like you played in grade school music class, write it down!
When you take the first concrete steps of talking about, prioritizing, researching and planning, you bring the reality of your dreams more sharply into focus and make them more obtainable.
By incorporating Bucket Club into your busy schedule, you are acknowledging the importance of taking time for yourself and figuring out the things that you have a true passion for.
We love our friends and want to help them live their best lives. We want to support and encourage them to make their dreams come true also.
When you hear someone in your group speak strongly about something, jot it down so you can remember to follow-up. Maybe Joanie has been dying to go indoor skydiving. Maybe you can go with and take pictures!
If Kathy mentions she’s always wanted to try the guitar, and you happen to know someone who plays the guitar, maybe you can get them together. Or, perhaps you find out Nicolette’s dream is to go to Tokyo and you have a friend, Diane, who lived there once and would love to share her experiences…get them together! Definitely jot down: Tokyo/Nicolette/Diane, so you remember to follow up. “Write it down” is the Bucket List mantra. It really does make a difference.
Your bucket list will be different from everyone else’s because you will be spending time discovering what experiences make you most excited, what hobbies you have always been curious about, what travel destinations make your heart race. You will be proactively making plans for what your life and your friends’ lives will look like and then encouraging each other and empowering each other to make them happen!
