Reinvent Book Club. Invent your life.

Is it Really a Meeting?

I think it’s important to call your Bucket Club get-togethers a meeting for a very good reason.

Have you ever gotten a last-minute call from a friend that was scheduled to help decorate for an event, but they now need to attend a meeting at work? They are soooo sorry, but:

  • It’s work.
  • It’s non-negotiable.
  • It’s a meeting.

Meetings are important. Meetings are non-negotiable. The word “meeting” carries a certain gravitas that’s hard to dispute. It can be an annoying word at times, but we are going to turn it to our advantage. When you talk about your Bucket Club get-togethers, you”re going to call it a ‘meeting’ because:

Having an evening out with friends is rejuvenating and relaxing. It’s important.

Talking about things you want to do in the future is the first step towards making your dreams a reality. It’s important.

Carving out time in your busy schedule to grow your friendships, learn what is on your friends’ bucket lists, and help them work towards their goals is rewarding. And important.

“Honey, I know you just walked in the door,
but supper is on the table and I have to get
to my meeting in 15 minutes. Love you!”

“Mom, I’d love to run you to the grocery store,
but I have a meeting tonight…how about tomorrow? Love you!”

“Alexis still has the projectile vomiting,
but her fever is down.
Dr. Walker says keep pushing the water

and broth. I’ll be home from my
meeting about 10:00. Love you!”

Prioritize Bucket Club and your family and friends will too. Make the most of this opportunity. You won’t regret it.
